R&R Taqueria plans to open a new location in downtown Baltimore.

The popular Mexican restaurant that grew a cult following inside a Shell gas station in Elkridge will be opening a downtown outpost at 30 Light Street in early 2018, the BBJ reports. The new spot will be the tacqueria’s third and, pending approval for a liquor license, the first to sell alcohol.

R&R Tacqueria expanded its original Elkridge location to a stand-alone restaurant space in January of this year. The chain also has a location in Perry Hall that opened in 2013.

Staying true to its original location, the restaurant maintains an interesting menu of fast food breakfast and lunch items with genuine Mexican flavor.

“We take real pride in serving our guests authentic Mexican dishes, made with the first ingredients available,” chef and founder Rodrigo Albarran told the Business Journal.

Locals and culinary tourists alike have celebrated R&R Taqueria for that standout authenticity. The restaurant and Albarran, have been featured on food-centric TV shows, most famously Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” on the Food Network.

R&R Taqueria will join a Subway sandwich shop and Cilantro Restaurant in its new high-traffic, downtown address.
